BEAUTY: Introducing Memebox – Korean Beauty and Skincare Boxes

memebox review superbox 29 burst of colour
This time last year I discovered Korean beauty brand, Touch in SOL. I reviewed their range and developed a huge obsession for Korean cosmetics. I just love the cute packaging, colours and the flawless finish the products always manage to achieve. So, you can imagine my sheer excitement when I discovered Memebox! Pronounced mi-mi-box, this is a beauty box company that sells best sellers on the Korean market, the most loved skincare products and more in a sweet little value box. This is great news as Memebox offers the rest of the world easy-access to Korean cosmetic trends which used to be pretty tricky to get your hands on.
The website is a bit baffling upon first glance, you don’t actually sign up for a monthly subscription  – rather than receiving a box monthly you can just buy boxes as and when you see something that takes your fancy (which is actually more dangerous as I just want to buy them all!) You can also chose which category products you want to receive. There are a huge, huge amount of different boxes to order from makeup to skincare, pampering products and more. I spent quite some time looking at the different boxes and decided the only way to properly try Memebox is to just go for it and order!
I went for the ‘Superbox #29: Burst of Colour’ which is priced at $39.99 + $7.99 shipping, this worked out at around £27, however I found a cheeky discount code online that brought it down a bit – I’ll share that with you at the end 😉 The Superbox is a slightly larger box that consists of full-sized products which I prefer much more than sample sizes, I also opted for a make-up only although I might try skincare next. Each box contains products worth over $100, so it’s amazing, amazing, value for money.
Shipping was quick too, I received an email to let me know my box had been dispatched, it then arrived about 5 days later, which is really speedy seeing as it came from overseas.

Here’s what was inside…
Hope Girl Tinted Cushion Lipstick in Coral Pink ($12)
A gorgeous matte lip gloss in such a pretty colour that comes with a built in ‘cushion sponge’ that can be used as a gloss-less lipstick with the lasting power of a lip tint. It’s really buildable so can be either subtle or a striking pink and has super staying powers – I used this at work and after 3 cups of tea I still had perfect coverage!
Hope Girl Wonder Magic Mascara ($22)
This mascara also has amazing staying power, after being caught in the rain this still looked as soon as when it was applied – impressive! Great to lengthen the lashes and isn’t clumpy at all.
Sua Young Mein Sua Young Mineral Essence in Liquid Foundation with SPF 33 ($33)
I expected full sized products to be included; however I was so surprised to see a whole full size foundation which is almost the value of the box in total! As a lot of Korean foundation is in lighter shades this is just a touch too light for me at the moment as I have a slight tan, however I think it’ll be absolutely perfect for later in the year when I return to my normal shade of pasty white! As I’m impatient, I’ve been testing it out and it offers amazing coverage with such a beautiful flawless porcelain finish, I can’t wait to wear it in the Autumn/Winter, it’ll be perfect.

Beauty People 10 seconds Auto Eye Liner Pencil x 2 ($48)
This is glossy, glam sparkling eyeliner that is sent in two colours, I was sent Diamond Bronze and Diamond Beige. At first I thought I would never use the Diamond Beige as it’s almost white, however after looking at tutorials online it’s perfect for highlighting the inner corner of the eye or using along the lower lash line to widen the eye. I tried it and it’s such a pretty look with a touch of sparkle that isn’t over the top. The Bronze shade is also fab for this time of year as it goes so well with golden, sunkisssed looks, it’ll be my staple product for trips to the beach and summer evenings.
Hope Girl 3D Powder Blush ($18)
I received the blush in 01 Sexy Rose which is a delicate light pink with a shimmer. I loved the cute packaging with built in ‘puff’. A subtle blush which is blendable and buildable, the powder is enriched with Vitamin E so doesn’t dry the skin. One sweep across the cheekbones gives a nice healthy glow.

Ladykin Close-up Decuple Fitting Powder ($17)
This is honestly one of the best finishing powders I’ve used in a long while and my favourite product of the box! I’ve been using this daily after BB cream or foundation to even the skin tone. Enriched with safflower seed oil it doesn’t dry the skin out but still gives that flawless look. The powder also has a pretty scent that lasts all day.

Y.E.T Catgirl Waterproof Pen Liner Black ($9)
The last product in my Memebox was the Catgirl pen eyeliner. This is a long-lasting liner that is completely waterproof, however, it’s still quite easy to remove with eye make-up remover. The pen tip is fine and applies evenly giving a perfect smooth straight line. I love pen liners as they are just so easy to use!
Overall, I was so impressed with my first Memebox, it’s amazing value for money and absolutely I loved the surprise element of not knowing what I was going to get. I will genuinely use all of the products I received. It’s a really great way of trying different products in colours or styles I wouldn’t normally pick up, I’ve really enjoyed trying new looks. I’ve already ordered my next box which should come in a couple of weeks time!!
If you would like to try Memebox, I’ve found a discount code online of ‘TRYMEMEBOX’ for $15 off your first box! What are you waiting for? 🙂
Have you tried Memebox or any other Korean beauty brands?
