BEAUTY: Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer

In July, I attended the Clinique Face forward blog event and fell in love with all of the new products, Clinique have had one of the biggest revamps and overhauls of their products I’ve seen in a long time. Of course they still offer all the classic products,  but with the new additions they are quickly becoming one of my favourite brands!  Earlier this month following the event, I wrote about the new Contouring Chubby sticks, which are such a great, easy to use product (I have actually mastered contouring now) and today, Heather of Beauty and Nothingness blog is taking over to tell us all about the Clinique Lip Colour Pops! Enjoy.
Clinique has been one of my favourite brands, not just for makeup but certain skincare products, since I was a teenager and I first started getting into ‘proper’ makeup. I love the Clinique liners, especially the Brush On Cream Liner and I also really liked their bases for a while.

When Clinique launched their Pop Lip Colour and Primer, I was so excited as I haven’t tried their lipsticks before and I am all for long wearing lip products – it’s one of the beauty products that I will always invest more in. The first shade I bought was Bare Pop and a couple of weeks ago I then bought Beige Pop, both from Feelunique for around £14 each (always look online for codes, there is usually a 5% or 10% code out there).

I love the packaging of these lipsticks! I think it is so sleek, modern and practical even though for me, Clinique’s packaging has always been very old fashioned. The lipsticks claims to be comfortably moisturising for up to eight hours which are bold claims!

Bare Pop is a gorgeous ‘my lips but better’ shade although it does have visible golden shimmer running through the lipstick and it is noticeable on the lips. The shimmer does put me off wearing it and I don’t know if I would have bought this shade if I had known that the shimmer would be so visible but that is the risk you take when ordering online! The shimmer doesn’t affect the smooth texture of the lipstick, it is still comfortable on the lips and it looks very pretty.

Beige Pop is very similar to the Bare Pop shade although it is a lighter, baby pink shade and it doesn’t contain shimmer – it has a similar texture to the cremesheen formula of MAC lipsticks. Both shades wear well, not the eight hours they claim, but for how creamy and comfortable they are on the lips they are fairly impressive, in my opinion.

Overall, if you can get these at a discount as I did then I think they are definitely worth it but I think the full price is a little high. I can only comment on the shades I have but the formula is great and much more comfortable and creamy than I thought it would be. I did have a difficult time picking the shades I wanted online because there are at least four ‘nude/natural’ shades; also swatches online aren’t always accurate.
