At this time of year my lips always start to feel a bit dry and flaky. In the winter, the skin is battered by the elements, wind, rain and the cold but then frazzled with the dry air from central heating, it’s no wonder it can’t cope! The Mint Julips Lip Scrub by Lush (£5.50) is my saviour winter product, keeping them soft and nourished throughout the cold winter times.
Made with sugar, peppermint oil and vanilla, the first thing you will notice about this product is that is smells delicious! Like mint choc-chip ice cream, I could almost eat this with a spoon. It has a soft grainy texture that isn’t too abrasive, and the oils allow it to stick to your fingers and lips for easy application and not too much mess.
Just a small amount of the product, scrubbed onto the lips for a few seconds clears away any dead skin particles and flakiness, keeping lips looking healthy and smooth. The mixture is also natural which means it doesn’t matter if a little bit goes into your mouth (or you just lick it off…..) it tastes just as good as it smells. Having soft and prepared lips is an ideal base for lip glosses and lipsticks too.
I love this product and am on my second pot now, it’s a must-have over the winter season and comes highly recommended. If you don’t fancy this flavour, Lush also do Bubblegum and Popcorn flavours, and ‘Santa’s Scrub’ which is cola flavoured with cherry extract especially for Christmas.
