I was very excited (and a bit nervous) last week, as I was hostess to my very first blogger event! It was held at the Lush store in Brighton and 15 lovely bloggers from around the local area came along. I arrived early to set up and met with the lovely organisers on the Lush end, Magz and her team who are so friendly and put my nerves at ease. Soon after the excited bloggers started arriving and were greeted with bucks fizz and mince pies.
It started out with a look at the Christmas ranges. Hills showed us the gorgeous Golden Wonder, a bath bomb that is shaped like a little golden present.
As the bath bomb works it’s magic different colours swirl into the water, it was incredible – totally not what I was expecting at all. The Golden Wonder left the water a gorgeous mermaid green and also includes an edible gold lustre and golden stars, which look shimmery and gorgeous but are good for the environment too.
We were divided into groups using a funny game where we had to throw jelly soap to each other in a circle. Whoever dropped the jelly-ball would be ‘out’ and have to join a team. It was hilarious! Think they usually do this at kids parties, but they obviously saw we are all big kids really!
Our first activity was to make a Comforter bubble bar with Magz. It was great fun mixing up the ingredients and seeing how they are made, ours didn’t turn out very neat at all, but smells gorgeous and will work a treat I’m sure!!
The next activity was a hand and arm massage techniques with Emily. She showed us their wonderful range of massage bars and we all had a go at massaging each other. I didn’t take photos here as I was enjoying my massage by Steph and must have been carried away. I loved the massage bars so much I bought the ‘honeymooner’ which is sweet chocolate scented – yum!
The final activity was looking at the perfume range. Lush isn’t a place I would instantly think for perfume, so I was interested to sample a few. They have some really unique scents in their new Gorilla range, Hills showed us that the same perfume can smell totally different on each person, so we all tested the same one – it’s bizarre the scents were totally different! We learnt that with testing perfumes, you really have to leave the perfume to develop on your own skin to get a true feel for what it might smell like. The Lush Gorilla range has scents ranging from floral and incense to French cigarettes and espresso, so there really is something for everyone. I really loved Hellstone which has an earthy ‘ wintery night time’ scent with a spritz of Vanilla to sweeten it – this made perfect little perfume cocktail. It was really good fun trying out the different scents and variations by mixing and matching too.
We then had the chance to peruse the shop and nibble on the gorgeous cakes supplied by Sami from That Red Head Said and Cake-Cetera. I wanted to buy the whole shop but limited myself to a few treats and a Christmas Penguin bubble bar for Vince.
A massive thank you to Magz and the team at Brighton for having us & thank you to everyone that came along! Please do check out Lush as they have some really lovely things this Christmas!
