I’m completely in love with deep purpley, plum shades and wear this look quite often. I’ve had quite a few comments on Twitter and Instagram about how I do my eye make-up, so here is my little guide to how I achieve the smoky plum look. Most of my make-up here is from The Body Shop, as you know I’m a big fan of theirs! Their Colour Crush eyeshadows are fabulous for this look as they allow you to build up colour gradually and blend colours together easily.
The colours I’ve used are 110: Stand by Me (£7.00) 32: Chocolate (discontinued) and 320: Grape Expectations (£7.00), all applied and blended with The Body Shop’s eyeshadow Brush (£9.00).
I start with the lightest colour and dust all across the lid, focusing around the inner corner and building the pigment here. I then take the plum shade and blend this outwards, building the colour towards the outer edge of the eye so the colour gradually gets deeper. Lastly, to finish I add the chocolate shade to the outer edge, blending backwards into the centre of the lid and into the crease of the eyelid. Lastly to finish, I lightly blend along the line of my liquid eyeliner, again with the darkest shade.
I then finish the look with The Body Shop’s Lipgloss in Plum (£7.00). I love this gloss as it’s super shiny with a soft shimmer and highly moisturising – it also tastes/smells great too.
Have you tried Body Shop Colour Crush eyeshadows? What did you think?
