BEAUTY: Beach make up and skincare favourites

On holiday, I try to wear as minimal make-up as possible. Holidays are a time to break out the colours, golds and bronzes that I had safely tucked away now summer in the UK is over. As my eyes were sore most of the time from long days on the beach and the salty sea water, my make-up routine consisted of a brush of soft, kohl eyeliner in either blue or gold and a sweep of my favourite shimmery eyeshadow. I have pale skin and don’t tan easily, however after just one day in the sun I ditched my foundation and BB cream, opting for a nearly natural look, with just a few touches of concealer to cover the blemishes and a sweep of Honey Bronze powder over my cheekbones to add to the sunkissed look. My go-to lipstick was a nude shimmer shade from The Body shop, this I blended with the GOSH lipliner in Antique Rose to give a subtle pinky hue.

Here are some of my beauty favourites from my trip, photo’s taken on the beach especially for this post! I was laughing to myself as I took them, I’d laid all my makeup out onto the sand and people stopped to look what I was doing as if I’d set up a little stall to sell on the beach. Oh, the joys of being a blogger… I forget this isn’t normal behaviour for most!

As my skin was feeling extra delicate I stuck with a simple Vitamin E cream for both day and night. Both are from John Gosnell’s The Original Vitamin E cream range which is a classic formula created in and popular since the 1980’s. John Gosnell’s products were also created in Lewes, East Sussex – just a few miles from where I live, so its great to support a local Sussex brand too! Both creams were perfect as they were so gentle and soothed my slightly frazzled skin. The night cream is extra thick and nourishing, great for my dehydrated skin.
