Getting ready for the holiday season can be a stressful time for a style queen, however there’s no better way to calm down than with a bit of retail therapy! Hitting the sales or browsing online can help you pick up some fantastic bargains in time for your trip… and let’s face it – there are some fashion essentials every girl simply cannot do without.
Here we take a look at seven top items that will make you look and feel your best on holiday this summer.
1. Perfect bikini
We’ve all seen bikinis we love with stunning designs and price tags that we would take a loan out for. However, the key to a good bikini is one that fits you well. Big busts need support, and halterneck styles look great on athletic girls. Try before you buy.
2. Designer sunglasses
Are you a spontaneous holiday booker, checking for late deals on your lunch break? Designer sunglasses are often cheaper in the airport so you can pick up a high quality pair with your extra cash and look effortlessly glamorous as you leave the plane. It’s not called a runway for nothing!
3. Playsuits
That is, lots and lots of playsuits. They’re easy to wear, suit most body shapes and are so versatile – a true holiday essential! Wear with flip flops or sandals for a casual look on the beach or dress them up with jewellery and heels for a night out.
4. “The Dress”
There’s going to be at least one night of your holiday when you make a real effort and want to look flawless. Whether you go for the shimmering maxi dress, floral and aztec patterns or a bright, summery number, choosing ‘the dress’ should be a holiday priority.
5. Chunky sandals
Wedges and chunky heels have been a hit throughout winter and they are set to be just as big this summer. All of the high street stores are stocking them in time for the holiday season so get in quick and bag a pair now!
6. Statement shorts
Want a fashion item that will look great on the beach and when you visit a cocktail bar to watch the sunset? Statement shorts are perfect. Choose from sequined designs or patterns for something a little different, and acid wash is the denim to be seen in this summer.
7. Dungarees
Nineties fashion has been creeping back into the high street for the last few seasons and dungarees are set to be as big this summer as they were during autumn/winter. Team with a bright top and a good pair of trainers to look casual but cool. You can also head to the vintage shops and hunt down a pair of Levi’s for true ’90s style.
