LIFE: Hello – I’m back and I’ve moved to WordPress!

blogging

Hey – I’m back! Woohoo!

Apologies for the absence over the last couple of weeks, but as you will see I’ve been a busy little beaver. For the last month or so I’ve been pottering about, working late into the night, trying to work out how to move my entire blog over from Blogger to WordPress, and today….finally my ‘new’ blog officially goes live!

It’s been a bit of a stressful journey, filled with numerous hiccups along the way but I’m loving WordPress so far and all the amazing things it can do – I am  so glad I made the leap. I’m still learning so much about it – it’s going to be an ongoing journey. There is so much more to think about than on Blogger, from hosting to domains, subdomains, SEO plugins and more. For the last month I have lived, eaten and slept WORDPRESS (and I’m still learning).

Of course I didn’t do everything on my own, I want to thank the amazing Pipdig for my new layout (and for the super speedy help when I couldn’t get my menu’s to work) and the amazing Monika of Pastel Feather Studio for my gorgeous header, she totally understood my vision even though this was presented to her via a scanned in pencil sketch that looked like a 5 year old had created – she’s an absolute star and so easy to work with.

Lastly, I don’t want to thank Sky Broadband for leaving me with no WiFi for over a week due to a fault on my line, just as I was about to move my new blog over. Typical!

So, now I’m over on WordPress – things are going to look a little different here but I’ll be back to blogging just the same, bear with me over the next month or so while I catch up with everything and I’m sure theres going to be errors and broken links-a-plenty but I’m on it, I’m fixing everything as we go along but learning too so I’ve accepted things won’t be perfect for a while. Let me know if you see anything that doesn’t look right.

YAY! I’m so pleased to be back – I’d really love to know what you think 🙂

Loving the look of your new blog! Thinking I might move over myself as it might be more compatible with the iPad which is all I have when we are away. What do you think? Xxx

Thanks!! I will text you more info but WordPress is about 100 times harder to use than blogger if you are only on iPad, this blog took me around a month to organise before I pressed ‘go live’ and it takes a lot more time/money and effort to run xxx

This looks lovely. Congrats. I realize I need to do the same thing for mine.
I would love your insight and suggestions on where to start? What was the most helpful bit of information your found?

I’ve been learning wordpress (early days yet) and it is much more involved so you have my admiration. On the positive side it has a greater range of options.
    Thanks

      Thank you so much 🙂
I am more than happy to help you – I’m only a beginner on WordPress myself but I just used tutorials, blogs and Youtube videos to get by, I was thinking about blogging about it all – would you be interested to read that? 🙂 xxx

Yes, yes I would be interested. It would be great to get a behind the scenes look at your process as well as a starters guide to wordpress including which were the most useful vid and blogs on the topic. I would absolutely read it.
Of course, isn’t it wonderful to have even more to blog about. (I am being a bit sarcastic, you seem to do a lot already)
