Lovely Things (at Easter!)

Lovely Things

It’s been a busy time over here at FizzyPeaches HQ, as well as having our new bathroom fitted living in a total pig sty for over a month, I’ve also been away for work a lot and just to top it all off, Vee has been struck down with an evil Spring virus and has been too poorly to move from bed for nearly a week. It’s been chaos here and let me tell you, it’s no fun living without a bathroom, let alone when you are feeling poorly and stressed. I’ve just been dying for life to calm down a bit and finally it seems like we might be getting there. Luckily, it’s not all doom and gloom, with Easter round the corner I now have a glorious 5 days away from work and lots of lovely things to look forward to. So, with that in mind, this post is all about the lovely things in my life at the moment to inject some positivity into what has been a stressful beginning of the year so far.

I love Easter and can’t wait for this weekend! I’ve put up a few little decorations around the house and some gorgeous fresh flowers. I also hid some sweet little Lindt bunnies around the place for a bit of fun in the run up to Easter (don’t worry I put them up high, out of reach of naughty black labradors!) It’s so refreshing to get our home back to normal and to make it look pretty and homely after it’s been such a mess with all the building work going on. The icing on the cake (haha) has got to be this gorgeous Easter Yankee Candle in Bunny Cake*, it has a sweet, coconut scent with a hint of vanilla frosting. Our home is finally clean, tidy and smelling amazing – just in time to relax in over the long weekend and I just can’t wait!

Vee has been really poorly over the last couple of weeks and being the amazing girlfriend I am (!) I have been running around after her, bringing cups of tea to the bedside and making sure she is comfortable and has everything she needs. I also cleaned the house top-to-bottom, which took forever…. Anyway, to show her appreciation she surprised me with these A-MAZING Kurt Geiger Lucca trainers. I am one lucky girly. Of course I didn’t expect to get a present for looking after her, I would do it anyway (but all that floor-scrubbing and tea-making doesn’t seem too bad now 😉 ). They are so sparkly and gorgeous, I can’t wait to wear them out this weekend.

Sussex Style Magazine Next up – I had a lovely surprise a couple of weeks ago. I was emailed by Sophie; a writer for Sussex Style magazine, as my blog had been featured in her article ‘The Power of the Blogger’ in the March 2016 edition. I quickly scurried to my local newsagents and picked up a copy pronto! With a huge smile, I stood in the store eagerly flicking through the magazine trying to find myself and yes! There I am. The article features little me, alongside fab bloggers The Graphic Foodie and Does my Bum Look 40. It was a pretty amazing moment, I have to say I was feeling a little bit proud of myself and might have done a little happy dance. Thank you so much Sophie for the lovely feature it certainly made my day month a lot brighter!

Lastly, as I am always on the lookout for my next craft project I was excited to hear there is a new funky new art shop in town. Cass Art Brighton launched this weekend and is located in the South Laines, right near Donatello. Luckily for me, I managed to bag a couple of invites to the launch party so along with fellow blogger, Sophie of Sophie-Rose Blog, we popped down (after a lovely catch up, coffee and cakes, naturally) to see what all the fuss was about and WOW, they launched with a BANG! Their launch weekend had queues of people right down the street and a queue that stretched right around the store, it was just buzzing. We had a good look round the store which is just dreamy if you are stationery fiend like me. I wanted to buy everything in sight. I just love their brand ethic too, with a slogan like ‘Let’s fill this town with artists‘ how can they not fit in within a vibrant, colourful city like Brighton. Cass Art is just what we needed and will be a popular choice for artists, arty enthusiasts and beginners alike, there is something for everyone. I can’t wait to pop back and have a better look once the rush dies down a bit, I could spend hours in there – and probably will!

Have you got any lovely things planned for this Easter weekend?

  • Sorry to hear about Vee being ill but hopefully is on the mend so you can have a nice relaxing long weekend with each other. I have a luxurious five days off too and I can’t wait! Me and Rob are going away for one night so that’ll be lovely but apart from that I’ll just be pottering around the house – tidying and having a bit of a clear out as well as doing a few bits on my blog. I’m also hoping to just relax, watch some Netflix and do some knitting too. Perfect! Have a lovely Easter xxx
