Eau Thermale Avène – Cleansing Foam

I don’t often write much about beauty and skincare products on my blog these days. When I started out with my blog I couldn’t wait to write about the next product, but nowadays, I’ve become quite set in my ways and I have to really love a product to give it a mention it on here. I’ve realised over my blogging ‘career‘ that I’m definitely not a beauty blogger or a skincare expert, it’s just not my forte and I’m okay with that. So when I write rare posts like this, you know I’m just your average girl, sharing products I love and telling you why I think they are fabulous. That’s it.

So, onto the product…. Over the last few years, my love for French skincare products has just grown and grown. I’m a big fan of Caudalie, Bioderma and La Roche Posay (to name a few!) and have been known to arrive back from France with mainly skincare products in my suitcase…… So when I heard about Eau Thermale Avéne Cleansing Foam, I just had to give it a go.

Starting as a small company, Avéne started out as a small company based near the the Cevennes Mountains in Southern France, where the water is filtered down through the soil and rocks for over 40 years before bubbling up to the surface at the Sainte-Odile spring. The natural spring water is then used in every product. Avène Thermal Spring Water is naturally soothing, anti-irritating and is rich in components particularly recommended for the most sensitive skin.

The cleansing foam is such a light, airy texture and feels so amazingly gentle on the skin. The soap-free cleansing foam is formulated for normal to combination sensitive skin, and designed to cleanse makeup from the face and eyes. As I wear a lot of dark makeup, I’ve found it’s not perfect at removing eye makeup but it’s great on my face for the rest of my skin, so I usually start with an eye makeup remover, then finish with the Avené cleansing foam for a deeper clean.

The best part about the product is that it’s just so gentle, however it’s still able to leave my skin feeling so deeply clean and soft. The Cleansing Foam contains Glutamic acid which helps to mattify the skin without that over-cleansed tight feeling like you’ve had a dodgy face lift! My skin isn’t particularly sensitive, but I imagine this would just be perfect for anyone who has any type of skin complaint or irritation as the formula is so, so gentle. Perfect!

The Cleansing Foam is priced at £12.50. You can find Eau Thermale Avéne on their website here, or you can search for your nearest stockist (which isn’t Paris – yay!) here.
