Budget Beach Holidays For Young Families

When you’re living a hectic family life, a great beach getaway is the perfect way to relax and recharge your batteries. There’s nothing better than lazing around in the sun, sipping on cocktails and forgetting about the stresses of daily life. There are all sorts of beautiful beach resorts all over the globe, but a lot of them come with a pretty hefty price tag. Once you add up the costs of flights and hotels the price can soon stretch beyond your budget. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dreams of paradise. There are plenty of great beach holidays that you can do on a budget, these are some of the best ones when it comes to Europe tours at the moment.

Albania doesn’t immediately spring to mind when you think of beach holidays but it has some amazing ones on offer. It’s set to be the next big thing in European holiday destinations, taking over places like Croatia and Hungary. The picturesque white sand beaches and lagoons are perfect for beach relaxation but it has a more cultural experience to offer as well. The coasts are littered with old Roman and Ottoman ruins that you can visit in between sunbathing sessions on the beach.

Tenerife is the largest of the Spanish Canary Islands and has been a popular holiday destination for years. But regardless of its popularity, you can still have a great holiday there without breaking the bank. You can book convenient Tenerife airport transfers online to avoid any hassle when you’re traveling. As well as the world famous beaches, Tenerife is home to the incredible Mount Teide which forms the backdrop to some beautiful views. There are also some great museums and world heritage sights if you’ve got a keen interest in history.

Ibiza

Ibiza is famous for being the party capital of the world, and not the kind of place you’d think of when you’re planning a family beach holiday. But the party atmosphere is only half of the story. On the other side of the island, you can find the far more relaxing resort of Santa Eulalia which is more suited to families. It’s far cheaper to stay here than it is on the other side of the island because it doesn’t attract as much tourism as the party hotspots. Instead of huge nightclubs packed with young revelers, you’ll find quiet water front bars and authentic Spanish restaurants to enjoy.

Portugal

Portugal is another tried and tested favorite of beach lovers the world over. The Algarve, in particular, attracts thousands of tourists every year. There are plenty of great beaches up and down the coast and they’re all so massive that you’ll never have to worry about finding space. These beaches are set in traditional fishing villages where you can find some of the freshest and most delicious seafood in the world. There’s also rich wildlife that inhabits the coast and its surrounding islands. If you’re lucky you could catch a glimpse of a flamingo or a chameleon.

Turkey

Turkey is a brilliant holiday destination but the flights are a bit on the longer side so if you’ve got very young children, you might want to wait a few years before going there. Antalya is the largest city on the Turkish coast that attracts large numbers of tourists. If you like it hot, it’s the perfect place for you as it reaches temperatures of up to 34 degrees but make sure that you protect yourself from the sun. You can work your way around the historical city through the winding streets or travel like the locals on the Dolmus; a minibus that whizzes around the city that you can hail from the curb and jump on wherever you are. It’s a little uncomfortable but if you want to do it like the locals, you should use it at least once. For a fun filled family day out, you should visit the local water park or the marine animal park which is only a quick tram ride away. If you’re a real adrenaline junkie, you could even try your hand at some of the watersports on offer.

When it all gets a bit much for you, why not take it down a notch and visit some of the great historical monuments that the city has to offer. There are loads of stunning mosques dotted around the city, most notably the Korkut Mosque famous for its Broken Minaret.

All of these beach destinations are perfect for families trying to get away from it all without paying through the nose for it.
