This week we were invited to a VERY SPECIAL preview event at none other than Peppa Pig World! I’m not sure who was more excited – me or Violet! So once our ‘Royal Invitation’ arrived via the post to the Grand Preview event of a newer, bigger Peppa Pig world with TWO brand new rides, and couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive. Violet is a huge fan of Peppa Pig, like most children I’m sure. I have to say as children’s programmes go, it’s one I don’t mind either – it gives us a lie in most weekends as we let Violet watch a couple of episodes before we get up, so I’m grateful enough for that alone. Although if I hear the ‘Bing Bong’ song one more time I possibly may go a little doolally.
Peppa Pig World is located within Paultons Park just outside of Southampton. It’s really easy to get to as it’s right off the M27 and has tons of free parking close to the entrance. From Brighton it took us about 1hr 50mins in the morning, although the journey home was a bit longer.
As soon as we arrived we were directed through the VIP entrance and given our press passes for the day. Violet even had one for herself, which kept her quiet for ages as we found our way through the park (it’s the little things). The new area of Peppa Pig World was cordoned off for the Grand Preview event so we headed over to the new area to see what all the fuss was about. Inside we met lots of lovely bloggers, there were press and cameras all around and even a few celebs too – there was a real buzz about the day which made it even more exciting.
The new area boasts two new exciting rides. Firstly, Grampy Rabbits Sailing Club – this is a gentle boat ride, suitable for all ages. It has a twist as the round boats gently spin as you bob along, allowing you to take in all the scenery around you, spotting all the characters along the way. Violet really enjoyed this one although she didn’t know where to look, there was so much to take in, she just stared in complete bemusement for a while!
The second ride is The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride – another gentle ride, suitable for all ages. This one is a monorail above Peppa Pig World and is the ideal place to start your day as it gives great views of Peppa Pig World and all the other rides, spotting Peppa and George in royal attire and even the Queen along the way. Violet took in all the scenery and wasn’t too bothered by the height, she even gave some of the characters a wave along the way.
After all that fun it was time for a break, with a cup of tea and a bright pink cupcake to give us the boost we needed.
Violet’s favourite part of the day was meeting the characters. Around the park there are regular ‘Meet & Greet’ sessions with Peppa, George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and some of their friends, so make sure you keep an eye out for them! Violet looks terrified in all of the photos we have with the characters but she was actually mesmerised, saying a big ‘HIYA’ to each one and giving them a big wave.
We then headed into the rest of Peppa Pig World to try out a few other the other rides! Favourites were the Trekking Tractors (Violet couldn’t stop smiling and did the hand actions to ‘The Wheels on the Bus’ all the way around – too cute) and Peppa Pigs Balloon Ride, which Violet loved but V and I agreed it made us feel a bit dizzy (clearly out of touch with rides these days!).
We loved Peppa Pig World, especially the brand new area! It’s such a fun place to take your little Peppa Pig fan and there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy, whatever your age. We can’t wait to bring Violet back again when she’s a bit older and can enjoy some of the bigger rides and understand it more!
Before we started our journey home, we explored the rest of the park so Violet could nap (clearly too much fun at Peppa Pig World) – we had a look around the new Little Africa area, saw dinosaurs in the Lost Kingdom and strolled through the beautiful gardens to have a few moments of peace and quiet too.
We made a little video of our day, you can see this here:
A big thanks to Peppa Pig World for inviting us to your Grand Preview Event – we shall be back soon for more fun I’m sure!
