There is nothing Violet loves playing with more than her dolls. She carries them around with her, feeds them, puts them to bed at night and loves making up imaginary stories – doing little voices for each one in turn. Watching her play is the most adorable thing, she has such an imagination! I just knew she’d love this gorgeous wooden dolls house from Petite Amélie, you should have seen her face when she first saw it – it was a picture! So, today’s post is a little review of our new dolls house, plus we’ve also got another one for one lucky winner so keep reading for the giveaway!
This is the La maison d’Amélie – a super sleek, stylish dolls house in white, grey and black tones with natural wood from online store Petite Amélie. Based in France and the Netherlands; they’ve just launched their UK web store where stock nursery room furniture, toys, decor and accessories with the most dreamy pieces – all designed and manufactured in house at Petite Amélie. I had a look on their website and honestly, I wanted it all!
The wooden dolls house comes flat packed but is relatively easy to assemble, although like always I recommend doing this away from little ones so you can surprise them with the finished product! The dolls house also comes with a 19 piece furniture set, which is all assembled so there is no fiddly pieces to put together, you can set up your house and are ready to go! If I’m totally honest I had lots of fun setting up the little furniture pieces, it brought back fond memories of my childhood too.
One of the things I really love about the wooden dolls house from Petite Amelie is how spacious, open and easy it is to play with. There are no clunky doors meaning the entire house is fully accessible for little fingers and all the rooms can be seen at a glance. It feels sturdy, strong and built to a high quality standard to not only stand the test of time but to cope with the rough touch of a toddler too. The paintwork is also fabulous, having been played with for a while now it’s got no marks, dinks or scratches – it still looks absolutely brand new even though Violet’s spent hours playing with it now.
The furniture set comes in neutral colours but it can be painted if you wish to add a bit of colour to your house. We decided to keep ours neutral but love that there the option to change things up and personalise the product a little further. Petite Amelie also stock a gorgeous wooden doll set to go with the dolls house which would make the perfect addition, but you can use any dolls you might have at home, we’ve even had ponies and a wooden dog (bigger than the room) come to stay at the house so everyone is welcome!
Violet has loved exploring her dolls house, I’m sure as Pearl gets older she’ll love it too. It’s a timeless piece the girls will play with for years to come and make many happy memories.
La Maison d’Amelie is priced at £99.90 and can be ordered from Petite Amélie.
If you fancy the chance to win your own dolls house, I’ve got one the same as ours to give away too!
