How to Feel Better about your Body even when Times are Hard

If you want to feel better about your body but you aren’t sure where to start, then there are many things that you can do to try and turn things around. Want to find out more? Take a look below.

Commit to It

The fact that you have realised that you need to change means that you have done half the work already. The first step when it comes to changing how you feel would be for you to try and commit to the change. You have to realise that you have a bad relationship with your body and that you want to have a healthy one.

Ditch the Narrative

The next thing that you need to push yourself to do is ditch the narrative. You have to remember that looking different will automatically make you feel better. Many people believe that they need to look a certain way to feel both loved and accepted but this is not true. Before you can learn how to love your body, you need to think to yourself, am I trying to make a change because it will change the way that I see myself, or will it change the way other people see me? Believe it or not, there is a huge difference here, and you have to make sure that you take into account every angle before you make the decision to go ahead.

Stop Judging

If you want to love your body, then you have to stop judging others. When you criticise others, you send the message to them, and even yourself, that the body is a measure of someone’s value. This is not true at all, and you have to remember that you deserve to be loved. You need to be accepted for the body you have, and so do others. If you can follow this rule, then you’ll soon find that you feel better about yourself overall.

Cleanse your Social Media Feed

If you see super skinny or glamorous celebrities online, then you may not think that it is doing you any harm. The opposite is true though. Exposure to unrealistic body types is distinctly linked to people having a low body image. If you can take control now by removing any pages that make you feel bad about yourself, then this will help you more than you realise. It will also help to empower you too, so keep that in mind.

What can you Change?

It’s also so important that you think about what you can change. Would losing weight help? Maybe you want to undergo a fat transfer. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it is easier for you to see past the issues you have. Sometimes you may find that changing something about yourself rockets your confidence and this is great if you are doing it for the right reasons. If you’re not, then you may never find a solution to the issue, and this is the last thing that you need.
