Lockdown 2.0 – Our positive plans to pass the time!

    4 November, 202011 November, 2020

Today is our last day of freedom before Lockdown 2.0 starts across the entire UK. I can’t quite believe we are back to this, but I do understand it needs to happen and I’m feeling hugely more level headed about it all, rather than last time when it was all quite a shock. I’ve got

Coronavirus Diaries – Week …. who knows!

    20 June, 202019 June, 2020

In the first few weeks of the lockdown, I stuck to writing our weekly lockdown diary but as the weeks have dragged on (and they REALLY have now) things have slipped a bit. If I’m honest, there’s been nothing to report – inbetween watering my plants and baking sourdough, life has just plodded on. But

5 ways I relax during lockdown

    26 May, 202026 May, 2020

Written in paid partnership with Femme Luxe Finding time to relax during lockdown is not easy, especially with two toddlers racing around. It has been intense – not helped by the fact I’m the sort of person that just keeps going and going until I crash and burn – which is never healthy! I’ve learned

Coronavirus UK Lockdown – Week Five & Six

    10 May, 202011 May, 2020

Another two weeks of Coronavirus lockdown have flown by in the blink of an eye, so it’s time for the next update. Our days have been as busy as ever, although in the last couple of weeks our daily routine has really started to become monotonous. It feels like we are stuck in a constant

Coronavirus UK Lockdown – Week Three & Four

    23 April, 202022 April, 2020

I’d been thinking it’s been a while since I wrote a Lockdown update and I’ve just checked the date and I missed a week! That explains why it felt like a long time since I last wrote – but also it’s a good sign as that means the time has been passing quickly for us.

Coronavirus UK Lockdown Diaries – Week Two

    7 April, 20207 April, 2020

And just like that, we are onto week two of our lockdown. I’ve officially been inside my house with the girls for 20 days straight and on one hand, the time is passing by so quickly, the girls keep me busy, distracted and exhausted but at the same time, this feels like it’s going on

Coronavirus UK Lockdown Diaries – Week One

    28 March, 202028 March, 2020

Ok, so this isn’t quite the post I thought I’d be writing today. In this strange, surreal and worrying time amid a global Coronavirus pandemic I feel like all I want to turn to what I do best in a bad situation and write. It always seems to soothe and calm my soul, plus this

Move into our new bedroom with me πŸ™ŒπŸ» So, you Move into our new bedroom with me πŸ™ŒπŸ» So, you may have seen that we recently moved our entire bedroom upstairs into our new room, and I am SO excited. We previously rented this space out to a lodger, so it's been 4 years since this was part of our house and it feels like we've had an overnight extension 🀩🀩.

The room is so bright and airy, with a gorgeous en-suite. I just love how the light shines through the windows in the evening, it's a great spot to read and watch the sunset over the trees.

It's not really decorated how we'd want it (we will paint over those yellowy walls and get rid of the beige curtains) but for now adding a few personal touches gives it a touch of home. For this room, it's just the beginning - I can't wait to show you the full transformation in time! πŸ™ŒπŸ»
This week has knocked the wind from my sails. Ment This week has knocked the wind from my sails. Mentally and physically I feel ABSOLUTELY floored. It's all hit me so hard πŸ˜”

The laundry has piled up, the DIY is at a standstill... I've accepted I've just got to do the minimum to get us by whilst I rest up. Which is hard for me as I'm USELESS at resting, but I know.... it's important πŸ™ƒ

Luckily, a couple of things have got me by:

πŸ’€ Getting hooked on 'The Traitors' and binging 3 epidsodes!
πŸ“š Being thoroughly absorbed in the book 'The Paper Palace'
🍫 Discovering @ferrerorocheruk chocolate now comes in bars - SO GOOD!
🐭 Rewatching ALL the Disney movies with the girls ready for our @disneylandparis trip - it's essential prep work, right? πŸ₯°

I'm just trying to find joy in the small moments, and block out that laundry pile. It'll get done at some point.

What is getting you through your week? πŸ’«
Clean my MESSY clothes with me! πŸ™ˆ 2023 is the Clean my MESSY clothes with me! πŸ™ˆ
2023 is the year we turn our home around and make it a comfortable place to live, rather than managing in 'survival mode' like we have the last 4 years πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

One thing I've been meaning to do for AGES is clear out my drawers and now we are moving bedrooms this was perfect timing. They were so full and got to the point I'd open one and they would all open with it πŸ˜†πŸ˜†.

I made 4 piles:
✨️ Keep
✨️ Store (seasonal items, like summer dresses or Xmas jumpers)
✨️ Sell on vinted
✨️ Charity

I cleared so much stuff out I can actually see what I've got, I've also worn loads of different clothes I'd forgotten about since then, so that's a bonus too!

Do you love a good clear out? πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ
So, we've packed V off for London for the first da So, we've packed V off for London for the first day of her new job and tomorrow is officially the first day of the rest of our lives πŸ™ŒπŸ» This moment is HUGE for us! 🀩 V has worked SO incredibly hard for this job and waited such a long time for this moment. Honestly, it feels like this day would never come! I don't know a human on this planet as hard-working, dedicated and worthy of this fresh start as V. She deserves this new job and promotion more than I can put into words. It's also the start of our new routine at home as I won't see V now until Friday. So, I just wanted to say HUGE good luck to you V, from me and the girls, we are SO amazingly proud of you and everything you've achieved! Now, go smash it and take London by storm! πŸ‘‘
Those magic moments πŸ’« coffee in bed, a new plan Those magic moments πŸ’« coffee in bed, a new plant, a text from a friend. Soaking in all those little moments today and its made me feel so much better, thank you for all the love! It really does mean the world 🌎 I've had so many texts and DM's from people who have managed to book their smear tests in following my post too πŸ‘. I'm a little bit sore and tired, but I'm okay πŸ’œ

P.s - do you like my new plant, I've wanted a Philodendron Pink Princess for years and finally I've found the one 🀩
Before Christmas I went for my smear test. I tho Before Christmas I went for my smear test. I thought nothing of it, it was fine, quick and easy. I thought my results were a bit slow, but with the mail and NHS strikes plus Christmas I thought it was probably just that.

Yesterday I had a call to say that my smear had come back as abnormal. Today I saw a consultant at Brighton hospital (yes, they got me in that quick!) who confirmed I had high-grade pre-cancerous cells. I was asked on the spot if I'm wanting more children as I had to make a decision to have a rather large chunk of my cervix removed. I told them our family was complete and within 5 minutes I was on the bed, having the procedure. What a huge decision to make in that one moment 🀯

It was a whirlwind, uncomfortable but not painful. The anesthetic made me feel terribly light headed and sick but the team were brilliant helping me to recover, either from the news, the procedure or trying to wear a mask in a hot stuffy room whilst trying to keep calm πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«. It was a lot to take on in a short amount of time.

It wasn't my best morning, but I am SO grateful for my smear test and that the team got me in so quickly. I will get more results in 4-6 weeks and need regular check ups, but I'm so glad we caught it early. The Dr said if it was left, the story could be very different.

So if you are needing your smear test, book it in. It's so quick, easy and painless and could just save your life. It looks like it might have saved mine πŸ’«

πŸ“Έ photos today at afternoon tea at @terreaterrebrighton - I had booked it before all of this as we were meant to be celebrating V's new job, we decided to still go and take our minds from a difficult morning. It was lovely and probably just what we needed.

How I made £200 a month on my first month using t How I made £200 a month on my first month using the Vinted app to sell clothing on Vinted in 3 steps! ✨️

Firstly, always take clean, bright photos that show the garment as accurately as possible. if there are any marks or damage, take photos of this too so the buyer knows exactly what to expect.

Secondly, use as many keywords in your description as possible as you want your clothing to be SEARCHABLE.. you want people to find you!

Lastly, batch list your items. if you only have a short amount of time list a few and pop them in your drafts until you are ready. This will hopefully reduce the amount of trips to post them!

Brrrrrr ❄️ Chilly toes on the school run! This Brrrrrr ❄️ Chilly toes on the school run! This month feels like a new beginning for us. I know everyone always says 'this is going to be MY YEAR' on 1st January - but this time, I really feel like it is. V is off to her new job very soon which she worked SO HARD for, which will mean she's away from home a lot, but the girls are settled and happy at school and we are ready for our new routine and I'm so pleased for her πŸ’ͺ🏻

Back at home, we decided to give our lodger notice as we realised we have well and truly outgrown our house during the time she's been with us. She moved out yesterday and for the first time in FOUR years (or ever - we've never used the room!) we got our master bedroom and bathroom back and it was like an instant extension to the house. My head is buzzing with ideas to decorate the room and make it the most zen, comfortable haven for us. We so need it πŸ₯°

I also took all the stair gates down around the house - we put them up for Dolly when she was a puppy, but she's calmer now and she's been SO good. It opened the house up and I just feel with the space I can BREATHE. Alongside all my decluttering it's like I'm seeing light at the end of the tunnel with our home, finally. It's work in progress but the space is allowing me to breathe for the first time in A LONG TIME.

I can't tell you how frustrating it is living in a space you are not happy with and in conditions you desperately want to change, so I feel like we've 100% done the right thing for our family... and I can't wait to see where it takes us. ✨️

How is your January going? Is it FREEZING where you are? 🧊

It's day sixteen of the declutter challenge and OH It's day sixteen of the declutter challenge and OH MY GOODNESS I've been so overwhelmed by the amount of people joining in! Over 6000 people on Tiktok have joined the challenge, with some of the videos getting over 200k views. It's been mad that so many people want to watch videos of me pulling out my cutlery drawer, but I'm loving it all the same! πŸ˜†βœ¨οΈπŸ₯°

Today I wanted to share one of my biggest declutters - the dreaded bathroom cabinet! 😳😳 I've been beating myself up about this cupboard for weeks, but as I cleared it out I decided to stop. We are a busy family of four, we use this cupboard multiple times a day, it was going to get messy! After a good declutter it looks so much better - will it stay that way? Probably not, but for now I'm happy!

If you've not joined the challenge yet, then please do, there is still time, or you can dip in and out when ever you feel like it! I've saved all my delcuttering content in my highlights, so please check that out or I'm @lyndsay.and.the.girls on Tiktok where I share some extra stuff too!

My goal is to make a difference in our home this month ✨️

#AD | Sometimes life can feel so hectic right? I’m always trying to fit everything in, school runs, dog walks, sea swims, work and the odd social occasion too. There always feels like so much to do and so little time! In between the rushing about, I’m one of those people who has to KNOW where my next meal is coming from, I don’t ever skip meals and I admit - I get hangry πŸ˜‚.

That is why @yfood has been such a game-changer for me on those busy days. Yfood is smart food – it is NOT a diet or protein shake. YFood offers a nutritionally complete, ready-to-drink meal for when you want healthier food, fast! This is based on nutritional and technological research to help with a balanced and healthier lifestyle. You can pop one in your bag and head out for the day, knowing you’ve got a healthy meal all ready to go! They were so brilliant on my longer Sahara training walks too! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

If you are a hangry mum like me, give them a try. They have so many flavours to try and a vegan range too! My fave is the vegan coffee - of course! 😍. If you use my code LYNDSAY-INSTA you can get 10% off Yfood’s products too!
What's your go-to food when you feel HANGRY? πŸ˜‹
