Gift Ideas For Your Teen Relative

When a relative turns for five or six years old, it’s quite easy to pick up a toy, or some clothing for them and you know they will be happy with it regardless. As children get older though and start forming their own opinions on things, they usually become a little more challenging to buy gifts for. So when that cousin, niece or nephew turn into teenagers, it may seem downright impossible. Most people tend to go with money in a card instead, but if you want to buy something and show a little more care about the gift you’re buying, here are some ideas on what you can buy a teenage relative in 2019 that they will enjoy.

Clothing

Clothing is a tricky one since it is very individual to the person, especially a teenager. There are many different trends and lots of different ideas about what is a great outfit these days, and your relative may not enjoy the same style as you. However, there are some websites that you can visit that may help you. For example, the billionaire boys club, where you will find very “cool “clothes that most teenagers would be over the moon to receive. If that fails, you can also find some great gift vouchers that will help you with your gift-giving intentions. It might be worth finding out which artist or group your teenage relative is a fan of as well because merch is highly sought-after and would be a gift that most teenagers would appreciate.

Gaming

Plenty of teenagers are fully immersed in the gaming world currently, and you may have heard your teenaged relatives talking about games such as Minecraft, or Fortnight, so you have options on what to buy a game obsessed teenager. Again you can purchase clothing related to their favourite game, or you can buy them money for their games in the form of Vbucks or Robuck’s, you can also find out which console your teenage relative plays on and buy them credit for their account. Alternatively, try a quick search on Amazon for the game and see what type of products you can find. The gaming industry is massive, and you’ll no doubt find something suitable.

Environmental

Many teenagers are very environmentally aware now and want to help save the planet; it’s a significant thing for many teens now. So something that is in line with this way of thinking would be a great gift gratefully received, products that are sustainable and cruelty-free are always an excellent place to start. Or an item that is designed to reduce plastic waste such as chilly bottles are not only very modern and loved by teens, but it’s great for the environment too, which is a great bonus! Just remember to check the wrapping paper is sustainable too and maybe leave the card this time if this is something that suits your teenager relative!

Sports

If your teenage relative is a sporty person and plays football, rugby or netball, for example, they may be happy with the gift of some new sports equipment. A brand new football, new hockey stick, a new kit, or even football boots it’s going to go along way. If you end up standing in a sports shop and you don’t know where to start, then ask one of the assistants. They will know what the latest gear is, and what would suit the specific age range. As with anything else though if you know your teenage relative is sporty and spends money in sports shops, then you will know that a voucher for one of the stores will really help with birthday gifts.

Day Out

Depending on the age of your teenaged relative, you may find that paying for a day out with their friends will be a huge hit. If there are over a certain age, they are driving experiences, paintBalling events, and even just basic bowling with fast food afterwards usually goes down well. At the end of the day, teenagers are generally found out with their friends and helping them to enjoy that time more is a beautiful gesture. Ask them what their favourite activity is and open there.

Ultimately it’s the thought that counts and most teenagers will be happy with any of the above, or if you choose just some money in a card that will work too! And sometimes we live a fair distance away from our relatives, so sending these items or getting them delivered directly from the company, will ensure your teenaged relative has a great day.
