An evening learning a skill that could save a life – our Daisy First Aid course

    9 June, 2019

A few months ago we had quite a serious choking incident with Pearl. She was sitting happily eating bread in her highchair, around 7 months old. She was loving trying foods and would always put way too much into her mouth, taking another bite before finishing the first. Taking another big bite, all of a

    29 May, 201929 May, 2019

Well, it’s official, I’m out of the Two-Under-Two club, having proudly held Gold Membership for a 7 month stint (although it felt longer at the time!) Now I’m safely on the other side, I’m pleased to say things ARE getting easier, so I thought it would be a good time to reflect over the last

This is the @floately Airsai levitating plant pot with super snazzy magnetic technology. It's designed to bring a calming, soothing vibe to your home which in turn lowers stress and eases anxiety. I can see why as I could watch it spin for hours! 🙌🏻⁣

I've written a full review over on the blog, so head over to read more about the Airsai, plus I'll pop another magical floating video on my stories too! 🌿
"God made us sisters, hearts made us friends". Tha "God made us sisters, hearts made us friends". That saying is with me forever as it was stitched onto a cushion my own sister gave me when I was 10 years old.

Even though I had a sister, we never grew up together. I was raised an only child, as my sister Viv was 16 years older than me and had a life-threatening condition called Cystic Fibrosis. She died when I was 17 following a heart-lung transplant. She was only 33 - which is younger than I am now. I feel so sad she had her life taken away from her so young, and so very sad that we never really got to have that sisterly bond - she was always an adult to me and I was a child. I told her I'd pass my driving test and take her out for a coffee, but she passed away when I was still having lessons. We never even got to have that coffee - as grown-up sisters. 💔

That's why I had my girls so close together. I wanted them to have what I missed, what I always wished for with Viv. Just when it was within our grips, she was gone. She lived in same village I now live close to Brighton. We sat on this beach together and she said 'if you see the sea sparkling, it'll be me visiting you' so we go to the beach often. She will never be forgotten, but for now, my girls will always have each other. Sisters 💕
✨ SMALL BUSINESS SHOUTOUT ✨ I am just in LOVE ✨ SMALL BUSINESS SHOUTOUT ✨ I am just in LOVE with the girl's new denim jackets made by @OssieandOllie - aren't they brilliant? Jen makes beautiful bespoke denim jackets for little ones, which are truly personalised as not only do they have their names, but the patches along the bottom reflect their personalities too 🙌🏻

I think they just look adorable in their matching jackets, which are perfect for Spring too.... I want one in my size!! 😍

Today we headed to the beach for a walk, despite the girls moaning they were cold, they pleaded for ice creams... when we eventually gave in they were upset they were so cold and asked me to warm their ice creams! Kids! 🙈

How was your day? Is the weather warming up for you yet? ✨

Happy Wednesday 🌿 This week has felt like a ne Happy Wednesday 🌿

This week has felt like a new beginning... sunshine, the easing of restrictions and a sense of new freedom has given me life.

I've enjoyed pottering in the garden and planting lots of pretty flowers & veggies! 👌🏻

Pearl is also so much happier in herself. We've been through such a rough patch but I think it must have been a developmental leap as her speech has suddenly come on too. I blinked and suddenly she's more grown up than ever. But Phew.... That was a rough one.... But I always tell myself, it's only a phase, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time.

How is your week going? 💞

AD GIVEAWAY | With the warmer weather FINALLY here AD GIVEAWAY | With the warmer weather FINALLY here, I thought it would be the perfect time to share the new @Playmobil 1-2-3 AQUA range, which is just perfect for water and garden play in the sunshine! 🌞

The 1-2-3 range is designed for toddlers aged 18 months - 4 years as the pieces are larger and chunkier than regular Playmobil, which are easier to manipulate with smaller hands. The sets also do not include smaller pieces which could be choking hazards.

We have been loving the Splish Splash Water Park, which is such a fun little 'water park' with a water wheel, cute characters and more - the girls love whizzing the water around using the wheel and watching the little characters bob about!
The Water Seesaw and Water Carousel make the perfect accompaniments to the set to create your own little Aquapark in the garden! 🌿

Both of my girls absolutely LOVE water play so these toys have been perfect. Water Play provides really helps with developing children's creativity and imagination, as well as their eye-hand coordination and problem solving too!

If you'd like to win a Playmobil 1.2.3. AQUA bundle of toys worth £100, head over to my latest blog post to enter! ✨💕 (I'll pop a swipe up link in my stories)

Eek! I just signed up for my first 10k run! 🏅 Eek! I just signed up for my first 10k run! 🏅

This time last year I started my Couch 2 5k journey and at the time I couldn't run for 60 seconds. I'd had two little ones under two, subjected my body to two rounds of IVF hormones and piled on nearly 3 stone in the process. I felt like I didn't recognise myself anymore. When I started running it was a real struggle, it felt like I would NEVER improve and I nearly gave up. I didn't enjoy those first weeks, at all. But, determined to carry on, I finished Couch 2 5K a few months later and realised that my running journey wasn't just about running. I started to feel fitter, stronger and uplifted as I reclaimed my body back. But, most importantly for me, it was boosting my mental health as we navigated through the strangest, hardest year of COVID19. After my run I feel energised, happier and I'm more patient as a mother.

Since completing the 5k I've kept up with my running, but without a training plan. I just go running when I have the time and although I love getting out there, I needed something to focus on, to train for... so I signed up for a 10k! 😰

I'm going to need to train hard, but I've got a few months to go so I'm sure I can do it 💪🏻

Have you run a 10k? I'd love to hear your training tips! 🏃🏼‍♀️
I'm just a girl, covered in paint, renovating my g I'm just a girl, covered in paint, renovating my garden 🌿

Yep, I never thought I'd say that, ever! Little old me used to cry if I broke a nail (okay, maybe not cry... ) but now I'm getting my hands dirty and planned out a huge garden renovation to keep me busy over Spring and Summer and I am LOVING it. I never knew that DIY jobs could be so rewarding.

I've always told myself I wouldn't know how or I wouldn't be good enough, but I've learned that if I just give it a go actually I can. It's been a learning curve (i.e - don't open a pressurised can of paint near your face 🤯) but learning a new skill has been such a boost, plus I've been enjoying the fresh air and calmness of the garden. The girls really love gardening, planting seeds and watching them grow. They also helped with the painting. 👏🏻

Some new things I've been doing have been:

🌿 Painting the fence
🌿 Planting grass seed
🌿 Marking out the flower beds
🌿 Painting the edging
🌿 Taking cuttings and propagating new plants
🌿 Growing tomatoes, strawberries, sweetcorn, lupins, sunflowers, with lots more planned 🍓🥕🫑🥬

Next week the new climbing frame arrives so the pressure is on to get it looking good! 🙌🏻

I've added a Garden Renovations highlight to my IG if that's your thing, but I'm so proud of it so far 💕

Have you learned a new skill during lockdown, I'd love to hear all about it? 🌿
