    19 February, 202019 February, 2020

This month seems to have been a real turning point for Violet & Pearl. They’ve suddenly grown so close and have started to form the inseparable bond I always hoped they would have. They are so cuddly and affectionate towards each other it really melts my heart. Plus, things have eased up for me as

7 ways to keep the balance as a working Mum

    8 October, 20198 October, 2019

If there is one question I’m constantly asked, it’s HOW do I fit everything into my life, keeping the balance whilst being a working Mum of two very little girls. It’s a tricky one to juggle but this week is National Work Life Week so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share

The types of mum at baby groups

    11 September, 2019

This is a post I wrote for Babycentre back in 2017 – it was so popular over there I wanted to share it here! Enjoy (and look how tiny Violet was!)  As a new parent, stepping into the realm of ‘mummy groups’ can be a daunting prospect. Going to my first baby group felt like

Introducing… #TheMeAgainProject! Eek, I’m so e Introducing… #TheMeAgainProject! Eek, I’m so excited to share with you a little project I’ve been working on for a while!

I’ve realised over the last few years I’ve lost who I really am, I’ve been deep in the trenches of motherhood and have got to the stage I don’t recognise myself anymore and I’ve been trying to work out what I can do to turn this around.

I am going to set myself small manageable goals each month (starting 1st April) to inch closer to the ‘me’ I was before.

I know I’m probably not the only one feeling like this so I thought I’d share my journey with you all (and hope you’ll join me too?)

Let me know if you relate 🥰

1. Everglade Forest @duluxuk
2. Angelica @craigandrosepaints
3. Ottillie @craigandrosepaints (🙌🏻 I'm leaning towards this one)

MONDAY MORNING RESET 🧹 - Does anyone else's hom MONDAY MORNING RESET 🧹 - Does anyone else's home look like this after a manic Monday morning school run? We've had a busy weekend, so this morning I set an hour timer and tried to see how much I could get done. I'm feeling quite self conscious about our home at the moment, there is SO much I want to change but so little time, we want to renovate the kitchen, get a new sofa (but waiting for the young kids/puppy stage to finish!) and the clutter - well, that is just never ENDING! But I wanted to show you what a real Monday morning looks for me, picking up the girls PJ's, cereal bowls, emptying the dishwasher and making the beds. It might not be perfect, but after quick hour refresh and some crisp Spring fresh air - it's made a big difference! 🌸

I can't tell you how GOOD it feels to lace up my w I can't tell you how GOOD it feels to lace up my walking boots again. Its been a while! 🥾 @coppafeelpeople training round two officially started today, starting with a 11.5km walk from Ditching Beacon to the Jack & Jill windmills and down to the Chattri War Memorial with @didicraze. It was raining as I left the house and I could have SO easily decided not to go, but we embraced the weather and just went for it and I'm glad we did.

Amazing chats, beautiful views and a super rewarding, challenging walk in the training bank 🙌🏻.

There was only one fail of the day.... not enough snacks. This girl was HUNGRY.... I mean, starving. We talked about cakes, roast dinners, the perfect chip size (chunky), jellybabies and more. Food chat got us by but next time I'm taking a rucksack of snacks! 😋

What did you get up to this weekend?
Is it me, or does this weather make you want to h Is it me, or does this weather make you want to hibernate? For the first time this morning I took Dolly for a walk in the beautiful Spring sunshine and thought 'FINALLY, Spring is here!' but nope, by the school run it was pouring with rain and we got DRENCHED (of course). 🌧

I just want to get started with life again..... with longer warmer dog walks, sea swims, mowing the lawn, watching the garden spring into life. Surely all of this must be coming.... soon? 👀

What are you most excited about when Spring finally does arrive? 💐

AD | Clean & Bake with us 🧹🧁. To celebrate I AD | Clean & Bake with us 🧹🧁. To celebrate International Day of Happiness (20th March 2023) @euronicsuk have challenged us to do something to make a loved one smile! ❤️

As you know, V works really hard, has a long commute and throws herself into family life with very little ‘me time’ so the girls and I decided to clean the house from top-to-bottom and bake crispy cakes to surprise her after a very long, busy day!

@euronicsuk are the home of electricals. They stock everything from laundry appliances, ovens, and dishwashers to microwaves and TVs - they have us covered with a range of appliances that make life at home just that little bit easier!

What is that ONE job at home you dislike doing that you’d love someone to do for you on International Day of Happiness? (hint, hint partners - listen up!) 🤣
Happy Mother's Day 💐 A day well spent with my f Happy Mother's Day 💐 A day well spent with my favourite girls, and also a bittersweet day as we also finally signed the forms to say goodbye to our embryos. I am so amazingly grateful to be a mother and for the two children we have, they are my world...but I will always remember those five little em-babies. I know this is the right decision for us but I will treasure them in my heart forever too 😭💔.

How has your day been?
#AD | Come with me as I prepare for Mother’s Day #AD | Come with me as I prepare for Mother’s Day as a two mum family. For us Mother’s Day is a double celebration! We don’t have a traditional day where one of us will stay in bed and get treats, as we are both mums in this house! Instead, we like to do joint things that we can both enjoy together.

This year I have put together a Mother’s Day treat box which is a gift for us both to enjoy once the kids have gone to bed. I did the school run then popped to my local @Morrisons where I picked up everything I needed for the big day.

@Morrisons have everything to make this Mother’s Day special without spending too much money. From Morrisons florist/bouquets of flowers (to suit any budget), cards, thoughtful gifts, table decor and more - you could also buy ingredients for a delicious meal to celebrate the special Mum in your life too!

They have a fab selection of Mother’s Day cards, which are really reasonable in price too. They were so good I thought I’d tick something of V’s to-do list and pick myself up one too (#mumlife)

How do you know when your family is truly complete How do you know when your family is truly complete?

This week our fertility clinic called out of the blue to remind us we still have embryo’s in their storage facility, that have been there in the deep freeze for SEVEN years now 😳 Is it finally time to say goodbye?

I admit, I’d buried my head in the sand about them. We always thought we’d have at least three children, but after two-under-two chaos, then the pandemic (we didn’t plan for that one, did we!) time just kept rolling on. Fast forward to now I’m nearly 38, the girls are both at school, we are finally getting our work, home and lives back after being in the utter TRENCHES of early motherhood. I think we know the newborn days are behind us, but we just didn’t want to admit it.

I feel sad for my little embryos that aren’t going to make it. If I could donate them, I would. Pearl was a little freezer baby, so I’ve seen that those little embryos ARE little people and just knowing that fills me with all kinds of sadness and guilt. It doesn't bear thinking about. But I can’t have 5 more babies, it’s just not realistic.

So, what are we going to do? Would it be TOTALLY weird to have a ‘goodbye embryos’ ceremony of some sort, to mark that we are SO grateful to them and for giving us that chance? Is there a way I could keep something to remind me of them forever? Is this a thing?

Maybe I’m overthinking it, but if you are an IVF parent you’ll know how far it’s taken to get to this point, they were SO wanted, so it’s not natural to say goodbye either.

If you’ve been in this position, what did you do? Or what would you do? Do you have any advice on dealing with this difficult goodbye 💜

AD | Brrrr, the weather has been SO chilly recent AD | Brrrr, the weather has been SO chilly recently hasn’t it! ❄️ One of our favourite things to do on a chilly, crisp day is build a cosy fort to snuggle up with the girls and read their favourite stories.

As a family we are always looking for eco-friendly ways to stay warm, and adding @myStoov heated pillow (or ‘Ploov) and heated chair cover (which is lovingly called the ‘Big Hug’ 🥰) has been a game changer to our fort building as it makes it SO toasty warm!

@MyStoov are cordless heated products which you can use all around the house or on the go, whether you are working from home, building forts or on the commute.

They warm via infrared technology, which means you can keep warm without having to turn your heating up - a sustainable option, which keeps those heating bills down too!

@MyStoov is the perfect gift this Mother’s Day - like a big warm hug, that just keeps on giving! 🥰 They come in various colours, fabrics, shapes and sizes, too, so they easily suit a range of interior décor taste.

How have you been keeping warm this weekend?
